We are trying to build up a global community of EMBS GOLD members. The aim is to create a vibrant community of volunteers that organize events locally to leverage membership benefits and participation. Please contact Matthias Reumann (mreumann@ieee.org) if you want to become part of the team. Bi-monthly conference calls will be held to update ourselves on activities around the globe and how you can impact your local community to create a professional home for our EMBS GOLD members.
MGA GOLD is very active in the area of humanitarian projects. In EMBS we have many humanitarian projects going on as well. EMBS GOLD is currently trying to build a team of volunteers to increase awareness of these projects and to help enthusiastic GOLD members to get involved.
We have launched the new EMBS GOLD Resource Center! We are trying to compile documents and links for you that will help you in building up your portfolio, improve your skills, both technical and non-technical and help you in your career. Building up this resource center is a continuous work in progress. So please give us your feedback and tell us what you need and want to see in our new
.EMBS GOLD Resource Center. Currently you will find a link to handouts of the presentations given at the "Scientific Writing" session at the EMBC 2009 Conference in Minneapolis. For feedback and contact, please send an e-mail to Matthias Reumann: mreumann@ieee.org.
Thank you all that participated in the EMBC 2009 GOLD networking reception. Around 100 students and GOLD members attended and had the opportunity to talk and network with our peers. The feedback we recieved was overwhelmingly enthusiastic. In the future, we intend to put your feedback into action. Many people wished for more social events at the EMBS Annual Conference. We are trying to put this feedback into action at the EMBC 2010 conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Be prepared for exciting news in the coming month.
